Those who lend their energies to the Cutter Theatre are not employees, but stewards.
Susan Swan Hobbs
Executive Director
Enlisted in March, Susan brings to the Cutter Theatre a make-it-happen philosophy and fresh perspective. A longtime feature writer, columnist and bureau chief for a nationwide motorcycle publication and a self-proclaimed 'activist', Susan demonstrates her ties to community as a Pend Oreille County Planning Commission member and member of the Colville National Forest Resource Advisory Committee. Susan and her husband Matt operate an American Tree Farm System sustainable-yield tree farm and are presently building two straw-bale insulated residences for the nonprofit project on their property, www.tohonor.org
Linda Bataller
ArtScape Creative Director
Linda has been coordinating and directing ArtScape since 2000, drawing on wonderful regional artists and providing exposure to a wide range of the arts for participants ages 7 through adult. Involved as an instructor herself, Linda enjoys nurturing students in the understanding of the integral role art plays in an individual and our society. She has been involved with art since a young child, learning at the feet of her artist-father. Linda firmly believes that all children are artists.
Van Whysong
Facility & Project Manager
Van Whysong was instrumental in arranging purchase of the building from the Selkirk School District over two decades ago. He continues to be essential in every facet of building improvement, project management and maintenance. Retired from Selkirk School District in 2008, Van (AKA Mr. Whysong) works Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Cutter Theatre and serves Metaline Falls as a longtime Town Council Member.
